Sunny skies illuminate shining faces here in the Pacific Northwest. Each light filled day seems to be our last as October winds towards Halloween. Spooky mushrooms, blood red rosehips and rotting apples clue us in on the long, gray months ahead. For now, let's play outside til our noses are nipped by both sun and winds, working up an appetite for sweetly spiced handcrafted treats. licensed october 12th

It was Labor Day, September 1st 2011, when I applied for the Master Business License for Greene Treats. It took six weeks for me to be officially licensed as a wholesale producer of non-cream filled bakery items. This business is my infant. It cannot be rushed, nor can I swell my expectations. I must have patience, diligence, and good faith.

This is the sample item that I brought to my licensing appointment. A delicious, buttery, spiced apple crumble bar. It is best described as a casual slice of perfect apple pie. The apples in this batch were handcrafted by yours truly from tree to oven - picked, peeled, spiced and baked.
